Cricket bringing different cultures together

The Nepalese Association of Victoria ran a multicultural cricket tournament over the Easter weekend of 2017, bringing together cricketers from Nepal, India, Sri Lanka and Bhutan.

Over the Easter 2017 weekend, teams of cricketers from Nepal, India, Sri Lanka and Bhutan came together to enjoy a social tournament that was organised by the Nepalese Association of Victoria. We headed out to the venue in Preston, Melbourne, to talk to some of the people involved, including the event organiser, Tara Gaire, and representatives from the event’s sponsors.

The winning team at the tournament’s conclusion was Northern Lions, who won the grand final match by 7 wickets over the Shakti Lions.
